Six acquitted in 2021 mob justice murder case
The High Court in Leribe acquitted six men charged with the 2021 murder of Pule Maeka, ruling that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case and that witness evidence did not link the accused to the fatal assault. Justice Tšooana Lesaoana found significant evidentiary gaps, including compromised exhibit handling and the failure to call a key witness, leading to the discharge of all six accused.
