Sekhamane accused of shielding Matekane
National Assembly Speaker Tlohang Sekhamane has been accused by opposition legislators of shielding Prime Minister Sam Matekane from parliamentary scrutiny by requiring MPs to submit questions five days in advance, contrary to Standing Order 27 which opposition parties argue only requires submission of MPs' names. The dispute led to opposition MPs withdrawing their questions and walking out of a Tuesday parliamentary session, preventing the Prime Minister from facing questions for the first time in nearly four years.
