NUL Council faces contempt charge

Fired National University of Lesotho Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Kananelo Mosito has filed papers before the Court of Appeal accusing NUL officials of contempt for preventing him from assuming the role of Acting Vice-Chancellor and for terminating his contract, contrary to a June court order. The dispute centres on statutory succession processes and whether NUL management unlawfully obstructed Mosito's assumption of office when the Vice-Chancellor's position became vacant on 31 July 2026.
