MCC drags PAC into Mputsoe contract saga

The Maseru City Council has initiated termination of its contract with procurement consultant Peo Mputsoe following Public Accounts Committee scrutiny of his irregular appointment and M42,000 monthly remuneration, which was nearly double that of the council's substantive Procurement Manager. The PAC has criticized the council's show-cause letter for inappropriately attributing the termination to PAC findings rather than acknowledging the council's own procurement failures in simultaneously employing two people for the same position.
