Many undocumented foreigners don’t qualify for refugee status: IMC

South Africa's Inter-ministerial Committee on Migration reports that most undocumented foreign nationals in the country do not qualify for refugee or asylum status, with over 53,000 processed for deportation in recent weeks. The committee attributes illegal immigration partly to political instability in neighboring countries and calls for African Union members to commit to political stability and economic development in their own nations.
