Man gets 30 years for killing lover’s husband

Acting Judge 'Manapo Motebele sentenced Moruti Mapola to 30 years' imprisonment for the murder of Tšeliso Chabalala in Mokhotlong in 2017, with the court finding him guilty of murder without direct intent after a violent confrontation over marital infidelity allegations. The court rejected Mapola's self-defence claim and found he continued stabbing the disarmed and grounded victim, demonstrating dolus eventualis with 14 stab wounds ultimately causing death.
