Makenete unveils strategy to bolster accountability, good governance
The Office of the Auditor-General has launched its five-year Strategic Plan 2026-2031, aimed at strengthening accountability, transparency and good governance through enhanced public sector auditing and institutional independence. The plan focuses on four priorities: strengthening functional and financial independence, expanding audit coverage, improving audit quality, and promoting institutional excellence, with an implementation cost of approximately M339 million.
