The Office of the Auditor-General has spent M12 million on a forensic audit into financial mismanagement and procurement irregularities at the Lesotho Electricity Company, with the audit completed and submitted to the relevant ministry. The expenditure has prompted criticism that the OAG's M30 million budget allocation for 2026/27 is inadequate given its workload including costly forensic investigations.
