Lesotho’s economic growth holds up
Lesotho's economic growth has remained resilient in 2026 despite global geopolitical tensions, with domestic inflation easing to 2.6 percent in August and economic activity rebounding in July driven by construction, manufacturing and transport sectors. The Central Bank projects real GDP growth to remain modest in 2026 before gradually improving in 2028, with inflation expected to rise to 4.4 percent in 2027 amid risks from weather disruptions, oil prices and external uncertainty.
