Lesotho receives WHO equipment to strengthen pandemic response
Lesotho has received medical and IT equipment valued at approximately US$150,000 from the World Health Organisation's Pandemic Fund to strengthen disease surveillance and emergency response capabilities. The equipment includes blood-glucose monitors, blood-pressure machines, laptops and related hardware, intended to help detect public-health threats early and improve pandemic preparedness as Southern Africa braces for heightened health risks during the predicted El Niño season.
