Crown seeks harsh punishment in Khetheng trial
The Crown has called for harsh sentences against Senior Inspector Mathibeli Mofolo and Senior Superintendent Thabo Tšukulu, convicted in connection with the 2016 death of Police Constable Mokalekale Khetheng, arguing they abused their authority and undermined the justice system. The defence requested leniency, citing Mofolo's previously unblemished record and time spent in custody, while sentencing has been postponed to 22 September 2026.
