Clothes joke ended in deadly shooting, court told

Former legislator Thabang Mafojane testified in the High Court murder trial of Teboho Tšolo, recounting how a mediation meeting between two businessmen over clothing jokes escalated into a shooting that killed businessman Panyane Phiri on 6 August 2024. Tšolo, who has pleaded not guilty, claims he acted in self-defence, while the prosecution alleges he chased and repeatedly shot Phiri after the reconciliation attempt collapsed.
