Auditor-General laments insufficient budget for her office
The Office of the Auditor-General has complained to Parliament's Economic and Development Cluster Committee that its M30 million budget allocation for 2026/27 is insufficient, having requested M67 million and carrying unpaid debts from the previous financial year. The funding shortfall has forced the office to suspend activities including audits and training, with the allocation barely covering salaries and leaving no funds for operational expenses like fuel and vehicle maintenance.
